Welcome to the Thames Valley Executive Job Club Network website!
- Who are we?
- We are a network of five executive job clubs in the Thames Valley which seek to assist experienced managers who want to remain economically active, often following redundancy. Each of the executive job clubs is run by volunteers with experience of both management and redundancy.
- Where are we?
- There are executive job clubs in Aylesbury, Gerrards Cross, Bracknell, Newbury and Windsor&Maidenhead. Contact details are on the Contact page.
- What do we do?
- We run weekly jobsearch presentations throughout the year, covering all aspects of jobsearch, including portfolio careers; starting a business; dealing with employment agencies etc. We give one to one help to managerial jobseekers on CVs, networking opportunities, interview preparation etc.
- Who can attend?
- Anyone from a first line supervisor to a chief executive who is looking for either full or part time work, a portfolio career, a change of career direction or to start a business. Our presentations are best suited to people who are experienced, but we are happy to help any age range.
There are no geographical constraints – if you can get to us, we are happy to help. You can be either signing on at jobcentre plus, or not.
You can be expecting redundancy and wanting to be prepared, or out of work.
- How much does it cost?
- It is entirely free of charge because we have the support of some local authorities and some charitable foundations, which enables us to pay for premises etc.
- What sort of backgrounds do the volunteers have?
- The majority are managers who have been made redundant themselves in the past. They are HR professionals, accountants, bankers, trainers etc – their experience is very broad and their motivation is to help other people who have been involved in redundancy.
- How long have we been in operation?
- The first of the executive job clubs – Gerrards Cross - has been in operation for more than sixteen years. All of the executive job clubs operate a similar programme.
The Network and this website are sponsored by the Branshaw Foundation registered charity no 1020253.
